Concordia - Leaving Impressions - #2

I don’t like many of my “fellow” students.

Among all Concordia students, the engineering and computer science guys are probably the filthiest. The men’s washroom on the 8th floor of the Hall Building has a constant smell of pee and its toilets are full of toilet paper turds. Seriously, how hard is it to properly aim at and flush the urinals? And why won’t the building management place a garbage can in the washroom so people don’t have to throw litter everywhere? Isn’t it less work than removing litter from the whole washroom?

Engineering and computer science students are also some of the noisiest people around Concordia. The difference in noise level between the 11th floor (where the economics people are) and the floor of engineering and computer science is incredible. Sometimes my team even has to retreat to the 11th floor to work because it is simply so much quieter, but then we get weird looks from the economics people. :?

It’s hardly fair to blame cs/eng people for the noise on the 8th floor. At least half the people there at any given time (although less true than last semester now that the 7th floor has opened) aren’t cs/eng.

And for the toilets it’s not just the 8th floor. It’s the whole hall building. I’m pretty sure it has more to do with not taking care of them rather than the people using them though. For example most places have those pucks in the bottom of urinals. They’re there for a reason. The reason is so that the bathroom doesn’t smell like Concordia’s.

Visit the 11th floor washroom and you’ll see (or smell, even) the difference. They have automatic flushers there and it doesn’t smell like the 8th floor’s. People often don’t flush on the 8th floor. Whenever I walk into the washroom I see yellow in 1/3 of the urinals.

You can argue that the 11th floor is simply used by fewer people, but then why did Concordia install automatic flushers where nobody uses them?

But yes, you may be right about the 8th floor people not being all from CS/Eng.

Maybe it ain’t just the CS/Eng guys, but there still is something with the CS/Eng guys. My male friends at McGill have testified that our new IT building of 3 years old have yellow crusts on the urinals along with the smell. The janitors might not be doing their jobs very well, but some aim and flushing would certainly help.

I’ve been at both McGill and Concordia. Both schools are filled with clowns, syncophants and “beta bois” who don’t give a damn about anything but themselves - and then whine when they are losers for the rest of their life, without a job.

Get out while you can Kal.
